Server scripts
rs info, rs slow, rs security, rs clean: what is on the server, why it is slow, security, Docker cleanup.
RunStack scripts are quick server checks in one command. They change nothing until you agree, and at the end of the report they say what to fix first and how.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
rs info | what is on the server: ports, containers and their configs, sites, services, cron |
rs slow | why it is slow: CPU, steal, memory, disks, OOM |
rs security | security check: SSH, firewall, open ports, updates |
rs clean | Docker cleanup and log limits |
How to run
The first time — with the command from the script's page in the catalog (after signing in). It installs the rs command into /opt/runstack and runs the script right away. After that every script works without downloading:
sudo rs info
sudo rs slow
sudo rs security
sudo rs clean
sudo rs help # scripts and services
sudo rs info --help # options of one script
Reading the report
- ✓ — fine.
- ! — worth a look: not an outage, but becomes a problem over time.
- ✗ — a problem, fix it now.
- → — the command or setting that fixes the finding.
At the end — a summary with every ✗ and ! in order. A plain copy of the report — /tmp/rs-<script>.txt (root only).
Updates and removal
The scripts update with RunStack: once a day rs checks for a new release and tells you how to update. Remove RunStack if no services were installed: sudo rs remove.
